Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your retail hours?

Because we have a limited supply of trees, and limited personnel, our hours are by invitation only.  Please email us if you would like to be added to our customer invite list. Thank you for your understanding.   monadnockviewfarm@gmail.com

What activities besides purchasing a Christmas Tree do you have?

We do not offer the “frills” of some larger tree farms, such as sleigh rides, petting zoo, gift shop, etc….what we do offer is a friendly, relaxing, scenic local tree farm.  Follow the nature trail to our fields where you will enjoy a fabulous view of Mt. Monadnock and where you can choose your fresh, Keene, NH grown tree.

How tall are your trees?

Trees available this year will range from 7ft. –  8 ft. tall.  We do not have any trees above 8 feet tall.

Can I choose any tree in your fields?

Sorry, we have tagged the trees we want to sell this year.  If we don’t manage the amount of trees sold each year, we could easily be without enough trees for our customers in following years.  We have tagged all trees over 7 feet tall.

Do I have to cut my own tree down?

You can, if you bring your own hand saw.  Typically we let customers roam our fields to choose their tree.  We then cut it down for them and transport it to their vehicle.  That way you have the enjoyment of searching and choosing a fresh tree without the work!

What kind of trees are available this year?

This year we have “Fralsam” Fir trees….they are a hybrid of Fraser Fir and Balsam Fir.  They make a great tree as they have the best characteristics of Fraser and Balsam.  Good needle retention, sturdy branches & good scent.

Do you have any pre-cut trees?

Yes, we will have a small selection of freshly cut trees.  Most people enjoy the 10 minute walk to our fields where you can choose your tree, but if not, we will have a selection of fresh precut trees for you.

Did the drought this summer affect the trees?

Our trees faired very well.  You may see some insided needles on a few trees that turned brown, which is normal in a drought year, but the majority of our trees do not show any signs of stress.  But we do recommend, once cut, to water daily.

Do you offer tagging of trees?

Sorry, we do not offer tagging.

What if I can’t find a tree I like?

No worries….we will be happy to refer you to the other tree farms in the area.

How much are your trees?

Trees are $65-$75 for the 2025 season.  Please note that all our labor is done by hand, which includes planting, weed control, insect control, fertilizing & shearing/shaping.  We also cut the tree for you and transport it to your vehicle.  Plus it can take 8-10 years for a tree to reach 8 feet tall.

Do you guarantee your trees?

Yes and No.  We guarantee that the tree will be fresh cut on the day of purchase.  But once the tree leaves our lot, we cannot control how it is watered, where it is placed in the home and what plan “Mother Nature” has in store for it.  Customers have told us that their tree has lasted until New Years without any problems!

Do you sell wreaths?

Yes, we will have handmade decorated wreaths for sale, made right here at the farm.  While supply lasts.

What forms of payments do you accept?

Cash, Venmo & Local checks only.

Do you allow dogs?

Sorry, please keep your furry friend at home or in your vehicle.  We appreciate it!

Do you allow professional Photography?

Sorry, we do not.  We just do not have the time or manpower to manage other things besides taking care of our trees.
